Welcome to St Nick's Church, Allestree
St Nick’s provides a home for many different regular groups and local businesses as well as hosting one off bookings for parties, concerts or charity events. Our regular hall hirers include groups for pre-school children, amateur dramatics, dance schools, stage schools, exercise classes, music lessons and much more. All hirers of our facilites must complete our terms of use document which can be
St Nick’s has a number of rooms available for hire. These include a large Church Hall with a large kitchen and hatch, toilets including a disabled toilet with baby-change facilities, a piano and a stage, the Choir Vestry, the Church Room (which has it's own toilets and small kitchen area), the Chapel and the main Church itself often used for concerts due to the acoustics, working organ and audio/visuals desk (additional charges may apply).

Health and Safety:
The maximum number of people who can frequent the church at any one time is 240 and the church hall is 220. All users must adhere to our evacuation procedures in case of an emergency. These will be sent out with your booking confirmation. All regular hirers must have a safeguarding policy if working with children and/or vulnerable adults and these must be made available upon request. Our car park currently has one designated disabled parking space and all cars are parked at the owners own risk.

Church Hall
St.Nick's Church Hall can be accessed via the main lobby area from either the main car-park off Allestree Lane or via the footpath on Lawn Avenue. Both entrances are suitable for wheelchair and mobility aid users. It can accommodate up to 220 people with chairs and tables available in the adjacent store room and in other church rooms (see details below) . There is a large serving hatch into the Hall from the main kitchen. The kitchen is well stocked with plates, cups, glasses and other useful utensils and has an industrial dishwasher and a microwave. Bins are found near the main church doors for smaller waste disposal and recycling. There is a large refuse bin found to the left of the kitchen doors in the car park.
Groups are advised that food may not be cooked on site, but can be brought in and served from this area. The Hall has plenty of toilet provision, including a disabled access toilet that includes a baby-changing table. Please note that the Hall is in the midst of a residential area of housing, so we do request Hall users to be considerate to our neighbours especially when leaving late at night.
The 151st Scout Hut adjoins the rear of the Hall, behind the stage area and can be contacted separately if hirers are wanting 'dressing room' facilities for performances taking place in the main Hall.

The Choir Vestry
The Choir Vestry is easily accessed from the Church car park off Allestree Lane. It has a capacity for 40 people. There is a sink unit in the corridor adjoining this room with a PAT-tested kettle, a few mugs and access to a small fridge and microwave. You will need to provide your own tea-bags, coffee, milk etc. Toilets are accessed via the Church Room or Church Hall.

The Chapel
The chapel is a smaller, carpeted room which can accommodate around 20 people and is used for individual and group prayer, communion services, pastoral counselling and meetings. Derby Deaf Church meet here regularly. It has it's own entrance with one step into the room. It can be accessed via Lawn Avenue, or through the main lobby and by the accessible route for wheelchair and mobility aid users through the Choir Vestry. It can be used for small groups and those needing a quiet, reflective space. The facilities are as for the Choir Vestry.

The Church Room/Cafe
The Church Room is situated at the west end of the main St Nick's church building off Lawn Avenue. It has its own separate entrance please be aware there are 3 steps up into the room. For those using wheelchairs or walking aids you will need to access this room via the lobby entrance off the Church car-park, and come through the Choir Vestry and then through the Main Church. This room can accommodate around 40 people seated. There is a small kitchen attached and two toilets.

The Church
The Church can hold 240 people and has a range of seating options. It is ideal for concerts and is regularly used by local schools for carol concerts and other events. The church is accessible to wheelchair users and pushchairs using the main car park and entering through the choir vestry.

Tables and Chairs
The majority of our tables and chairs are found in the main Church hall cupboard. We have additional chairs and tables found in the choir vestry. The Church room has cafe style tables and chairs as well as the rear of the church. In total we have 25 large tables (1820 x 685 mm), 13 small adult table (910 x 685 mm) and 11 small child tables (910 x 685 mm). In addition we have 8 large round tables which can be placed on top of the small adult tables for use. Our current chair total (mix of black and grey) is 150+ and we have 38 blue fabric chairs in the church and 20 green fabric chairs in the chapel. Our cafe style seating consists of 44 blue chairs and 12 square tables.
